TE’s AMPSEAL connectors provide rugged reliability in high-temperature automotive and industrial applications and offer an optional integrated gasket that binds to the header, creating an environmental seal.
These heavy-duty connectors feature a superior environmental sealing, providing a waterproof and submersible solution intended for wire-to-board systems. The ready-to-use plug connector’s housing features a two-piece contact-holding design.
The connector’s lock-in-place design provides terminal-position assurance against contact backouts. After contacts are inserted into the housing, the housing snaps shut to firmly position all contacts. As added insurance against slippage, the connector will not shut unless all contacts are properly inserted.
The lanceless receptacle contacts help eliminate tangling during storage and handling and help prevent damage to seals during assembly. The connector’s integral latch firmly holds mated connector halves together without the need for additional hardware. The retention legs, or hold downs, keep the header assembly firmly attached to the board before soldering and mechanically fastened to the board after soldering.
