35A per contact; rated to 200degC; suits rail, aerospace, battery and earthmoving machines

August 2016: Positronic’s new Panther power connector line for high temperature, harsh environment applications is now available at Astute Electronics, the leading supplier of electronic components and value added services.  Positronic is well-known for its reliable products and configurable design and its new Panther power connector line of rugged electronic connectors is the first from the company to offer IP65/IP67 sealing capability when mated, protecting against low pressure water jets (IP65) and temporary immersion (IP67) as well as completely preventing dust ingress.

Positronic’s Panther Series interconnects operate reliably in temperatures up to 200degC. and also conform to EN45545, a globally recognized standard for smoke and toxicity requirements, which is a necessity for today’s rail passenger applications.  The Series meets EIA-364-28F test condition IV for shock and vibration performance. Contact current ratings are up to 35A per contact when using high conductivity versions.   Physical specifications include a heavy-duty Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) insulator.

“The ability of electronic equipment to withstand harsh environments in applications such as mass transit, aerospace, battery and construction machinery is vital, and the strong and versatile Panther line was developed specifically to addresses this market.  Apart from rail and mass transit, other suitable applications include military, space, commercial aerospace, medical, industrial and test equipment. ” comments E-Mech Divisional Manager, Gary Evans.
