Connected World magazine names u-blox as a winner of the 2016 IoT Innovations Awards
Thalwil, Switzerland – 14 June, 2016 – u-blox, a global leader in wireless and positioning modules and chips, is a winner of the IoT Innovations Awards for summer 2016. Organized for the second time by Connected World magazine, this Award is designed to honor the most transformative businesses in the realm of the Internet of Things.
Submitted IoT businesses and products were judged by an editorial panel representing a cross section of the industry. Products that demonstrated a unique level of versatility and creativity for services and platforms were selected as the best of the best. “This round of winners have truly earned the accolades of the Connected World editors for creating remarkable solutions that allow businesses to forge new pathways via IoT platforms in an effort to monitor and network operations, or simply to help make our world a little more connected,” said Peggy Smedley, editorial director, Connected World magazine.
u-blox proudly accepts the award for the two latest GNSS modules offering unique IoT solutions: NEO-M8U and NEO‑M8P. NEO-M8U is the industry’s first Untethered Dead Reckoning (UDR) GNSS module providing accurate GNSS location information despite poor signal reception conditions, errors caused by multipath signals, and not being attached to the vehicle’s network. It is ideal for automotive applications such as pay-as-you-drive insurance, vehicle servicing, and monitoring. NEO-M8P delivers affordable centimeter-level accuracy, and is the world’s smallest RTK (real time kinematic) integrated module. It supports applications such as commercial UAVs and robotic guidance systems.
“We are delighted to receive this award that highlights u-blox’s commitment to develop innovative solutions for the IoT market,” explained Florian Bousquet, NEO-M8U Market Development Manager in the Product Center Positioning at u-blox.
