Leading domestic suppliers to showcase the latest wire and cable innovations

Growth in electric vehicle industry boosts wire and cable demands in China

Wire & Cable Guangzhou 2016 will open its doors from 6 – 8 June 2016 at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou, China. For the first time, China Southern Power Grid Media Co Ltd, the media company under China Southern Power Grid, a state-owned enterprise, joined Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co Ltd and Guangzhou BoYou Exhibition Service Co Ltd to build the largest trading platform for wire and cable-related products in South China.

Mr Emeka Hu, General Manager of Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co Ltd, believes that the joint collaboration of the three organisers will help companies enhance their visibility. He said: “Over the past seven years, Wire & Cable Guangzhou has built up a comprehensive network that covers China and beyond. Our industry ties have never been as strong as they are now with our partnership with China Southern Power Grid Media. Our marketing channels have expanded to cover national newspapers, magazines, the Internet and TV, as part of our devout effort to give exhibitors ample exposure to their target market.”

The 2016 edition will showcase the latest products in the industry, including wires and cables, optical fibre cables, equipment and machinery as well as accessories and materials. Such a comprehensive display aims to fulfill strong demands stemming from a booming renewable energy sector and electric vehicle industry as well as large-scale infrastructure and property development projects.

Leading domestic suppliers to showcase the latest wire and cable innovations

The show’s prominent reputation has attracted leading domestic brands in the region to participate. Some of the confirmed exhibitors for the 2016 edition include:

–    Shenzhen CTT Technology Co Ltd
As a returning exhibitor, the company provides electric testing and measuring instruments. Its signature products include winding and binding machines, strapping machines as well as testers. These products are used by wire and cable companies and electric appliance manufacturers worldwide.

–    Suzhou Zhihong Cable Material Co Ltd
As a well-known cable material manufacturer, the company sells a wide range of wire and cable materials including polyolefin compounds, insulation compounds, mica tapes and more. Their products are exported to Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas.

–    Guangdong Huada Cable Group Co Ltd
Participating for the first time, the company has more than 20 years of experience researching and producing wire and cable products and equipment. Their products are widely used by China’s power plants and in property and municipal projects. Major markets in which their products are sold to are Asia, Europe and North America.

Growth in electric vehicle industry boosts wire and cable demands in China

Determined to speed up its development of new energy vehicles, China has implemented a number of policies to support the use of smart cars. Some of the measures include pricing guidelines, purchase tax exemptions and optimisation of supporting facilities across the nation. It is expected that the demand for automotive-related wires and cables such as enamelled wires will see a 10% increase over the next few years.

In addition, the domestic need for transmission and distribution cables as well as railway cables is projected to grow vigorously from rapid urbanisation in China. Driven by the country’s ongoing development of large-scale national infrastructure projects and urban modernisation, it is forecasted that the current rate of urbanisation will increase from 54.7% to 60% by 2020. High-voltage cables will also be in great demand as a result of power grid construction across the country.
