As in 2013, EUTECT is participating at this year’s productronica in Munich, and is introducing a series of new products. The focus here is especially on standard solutions for EMS companies.
EUTECT is known as a manufacturer of special machines in the area of construction and joining technology. Many machines developed and produced by the family company are tailored to special soldering processes. A variety of electronic systems in German automobiles are produced using solutions from EUTECT beyond the standard.
‘The mini-wave is our main process. However besides that we also apply laser, thermode, induction, lift/dip, and piston soldering for our customers. We select the processes so that the requirements imposed by our customers are met 100%’, according to Matthias Fehrenbach, managing director of EUTECT GmbH. ‘Now we also make the experience that we’ve gathered in this area available to customers, who’ve seldom had to think about special soldering processes until now’, continues Fehrenbach.
This means mid-sized EMS companies that until then could complete many soldering tasks with standard machines. But their end customers’ requirements are becoming ever more demanding and comprehensive. The piece counts increase and clients often expect the EMS service provider to be able to take over several production steps. Added to that are production steps that no longer encompass the population and soldering of traditional circuit boards. ‘We’re talking here about the finishing of complete systems, and this also includes complex soldering tasks as well as subsequent quality testing’, explains Fehrenbach. That’s why the Swabian family company integrated AOI from GOEPEL electronic GmbH into the mini-wave system shown at productronica 2015.
Challenging soldering tasks are nonetheless often taken care of using manual soldering. But the general shortage of skilled workers is noticeable here too. Employees who make solder joints manually with a lot of finesse are in great demand and can scarcely be found on the job market. Added to that is the fact that manual work entails high costs for the final customer and delivers results of only limited reproducibility.
At productronica, EUTECT will introduce serial packages that allow EMS companies to complete these tasks automatically. Standard products encompass solutions in laser, mini-wave, and thermode soldering. Here the EUTECT modules are packaged into the smallest possible machine chassis in order to install a complete process within a small area. ‘We know that many mid-sized companies don’t have an unlimited amount of space. So our systems are space-saving. Moreover the receptacles for the assemblies as well as the EUTECT software in the machines are designed so that the operator can quickly and easily switch among different applications’, Fehrenbach describes the machine design.
EUTECT GmbH can be found in hall A4, stand 314 at productronica 2015.
For over 20 years, soldering and joining systems have been developed, manufactured, installed, and programmed at EUTECT as well as at customers operating worldwide. The Swabian team of experts offers an extensive, constantly evolving module construction kit for process solutions in the field of soldering.
Process-related and commercially optimal modules for the task description will be chosen from the selective soldering- and welding-technology process modules and combined into proven stand-alone, revolving, or inline production designs for complete solutions.
The EUTECT module construction kit shows that a slim, individual solution comprising proven building blocks for a customer product’s task description can often be achieved via individual modules or free combinations.
A technologically comprehensive, innovative EUTECT technical centre is available for the optimal solution through evaluation or the manufacture of A-B-C prototypes ready for serial production. Matthias Fehrenbach has officially been a permanent part of the family company’s management since 2010. Moreover he leads the development department at EUTECT.
