PUNE, INDIA, October 6, 2015 — Cadence Design Systems, Inc. today announced the inauguration of a new facility in Pune, one of four Cadence research and development (R&D) facilities in India. The new 27,000-square-foot facility in Commerzone Tech Park will house employees engaged in technology development of various Cadence Tensilica® Xtensa® configurable processors and related products. Cadence acquired Tensilica in 2013, which has had an R&D facility in Pune since 2006.
In the last 28 years Cadence has built world-class centers in India to develop the cutting-edge electronic design automation (EDA) software, hardware and IP technologies to help build the electronics products we use in our daily lives. The company currently employs approximately 1,580 people in India (regular full-time employees), engaged in R&D, global customer support, field operations, and support functions.

Cadence’s Pune R&D facility is involved with creating world-class software for various Tensilica DSP cores; contributing significantly to RTL verification; developing an integrated design environment (IDE) for the next-generation configurable Xtensa processors; and providing in-depth technical support to worldwide customers.
