Global innovator in the electrical industry, Hager Group has revealed its ambitious growth plans in a futuristic annual report which highlights six key development areas for the business.
Hager Group is one of only a handful of multi-national corporations still family-owned and managed. It was founded in 1955 by Peter Hager and his sons Hermann and Dr. Oswald Hager and today is headed up by third generation, Daniel Hager.
The theme of the 2014 report is “The future starts now” and sets out two key milestones so that employees get a concrete vision: to increase turnover to €3 billion and to grow its talent pool from 11,400 to 20,000. This will be achieved through six pillars of change: creating a broader footprint by expanding its existing presence in rapid developing markets such as China; making sure employees share a common language across the group through projects such as data harmonisation; enhancing integration through more cross-border projects; investing in people by helping them to develop the required skills; enriching leadership skills by encouraging autonomy and the will to take responsibility for others through initiatives such as the Peter-and-Luise Foundation; and better understanding and answering customer needs by developing, for instance, new sales concepts to open new perceptions for customers.
Hager Group strongly believes that its people are the key to success and that this growth will only occur with the wholehearted support of its employees. The report showcases stories from employees across various strands of the business to illustrate these pillars of change.
Bruce Davies, Managing Director of Hager UK, said: “This year’s annual report conveys a significant step forward for the group and industry. We anticipate its release each year as it does a great job of unifying our thousands of employees across the world.”
Daniel Hager, CEO of Hager Group, said: “We are aware that our projection is ambitious, but it is much more than just a number. It truly represents a step change that we will make for our customers and employees across the globe. The world around us is rapidly changing and we aim to make a genuine impact on this transformation.”
As an independent family-owned and run company, Hager Group has no obligation to publish an annual report. But this document is important to allow all our customers, partners and the employees to better face the challenges of the future that we all already have to deal with today. No abstract figures are presented but instead concrete examples are shown, enabling to predict the future, which will be exactly what we make of it.
