“LEDCON-2014” – Conference-cum-Workshop on LEDs is being organized on 23rd and 24th September 2014, in Bengaluru, by the LED Products Manufacturers Association (LEDMA) in association with Messe München International, Germany. The Event will be Co-located with ‘electronica India 2014’ and ‘productronica India 2014’ exhibitions at BIEC, Bengaluru.
To promote the Eco-Friendly Light Source-“LED”, LEDMA was established in 2010, with an aim to create and sustain an environment conducive to the growth of LED Industry in India. LEDMA was formed to address the issues of LED Industry, specifically of MSMEs and to educate people about LED products for various applications. LEDMA’s objective is to take all stakeholders of LED Industry under a single platform to develop, promote and conduct awareness programs for the growing LED Industry, adhering to international standards and modifying them to suit Indian climatic and power conditions. LED lighting has a vast potential in India owing to power shortages and high electricity costs. Nowadays, India struggles to meet the increasing electricity demand with its exceptional growth in the economy. Also, our country plans to build more power plants for sustaining the higher electricity demand of its widely growing population. A very simple solution, in the form of replacing light bulbs with the new LED technology, can surprisingly reduce the country’s electricity demand by as much as 40 percent. With the biggest benefit of energy saving, long lamp life and environment friendly technology, LEDs would notably lessen the lighting load, peak demand and overall energy consumption of India, even without compromising on the environment safety. This Conference will give a boost to the LED sector as it will bring together all the stakeholders to discuss the bright future of LED Industry in India.
