New Delhi, September 2, 2014 –MAIT, the apex body representing India’s IT hardware, training and R&D services sectors today announced the appointment of Mr. SR Vijay Shankar,Head of Government Affairs, Karnataka & Corporate Affairs Group Marketing for Intel Technology, South Asia from Bangaloreas the Chairman of its South Chapter.
Mr. S R Vijay Shankar will be the in charge for south region to increase efficiency and spur innovation through Workshops, Sessions and Conclaves to bring widespread awareness and develop collaborative relationships amongst MAIT Members including SMEs, MSMEs and Entrepreneurs’ for local manufacturing, IT Penetration and Digitalisation. Mr. Vijay Shankar will utilise his leadership skills to spearhead the drive to a larger audience for all important issues and challenges in the south and enhance engagement with the state government for best results.
Welcoming the appointment of Mr. S R Vijay Shankar, Anwar Shirpurwala, Executive Director, MAIT said, “I feel delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Vijay Shankar as the Chairman of South Chapter as we navigate through the evolving and expanding landscape for our initiatives in the south region. Mr. Vijay Shankar will lead MAIT for all important collaborations with the state government for IT manufacturing zones, development of IT manufacturing hubs in other cities with an aim to improve IT penetration and digitalisation in the region”.
Mr. S R Vijay Shankar has a thorough understanding of MAIT’s needs to boost local manufacturing, processes and systems to facilitate better communications channels with MAIT members and Government in the south region. He comes with 18 years of rich experience with companies like Intel and Cisco and is a well-known writer and literary critic in Kannada having published 8 books. He has also won several awards for his writings and literary criticism in Kannada.
