India, New Delhi, June 27, 2013 –Telit Wireless Solutions, a leading global provider of high-quality machine-to-machine (M2M) modules, services and solutions, today announced successful completion of inter-operability testing (IOT) with Japan’s NTT DOCOMO, INC, a personalized mobile solutions provider for smarter living, for six variants of its HE910 module series. The products reached IOT completion upon passing the mobile network operator’s rigorous M2M module testing program. Completing IOT testing denotes a confidence level by the operator that is sufficiently high in the reliability and quality of the modules for activation and use on NTT DOCOMO’s mobile networks.
The M2M module IOT program by NTT DOCOMO is the final step required by the operator for modules to be integrated into customer devices on-boarding onto its network. IOT programs are adopted by most mobile operators to address the increasing complexity of protocols in the interaction between M2M devices and mobile networks; and to ensure module vendors are capable of providing adequate technical support for customer application development based on the tested modules.
The Japanese operator can now activate customer M2M devices based on following six variants of the HE910 series: G, DG, D, EUD, EUG, and EUR. These are the first Telit modules to pass IOT with NTT DOCOMO.
All tested HE910 variants are HSPA+ modules. They are part of the xE910 form factor family which features a common, uniform 28.2 x 28.2 x 2.2mm LGA package. They deliver data rates up to 21 Mbps-down in the five-band G, DG, and D variants, 7.2 Mbps-down in the dual-band EUD, EUG and EUR variants; and all have 5.76 Mbps-up providing high-speed in an ultra-low profile for the integrated solution. The HE910-G, DG, and EUG incorporate an integrated high-sensitivity GPS receiver rated at -147 dBm autonomous cold start sensitivity making them ideal for personal navigation and tracking applications. The tested data-only EUD, EUG, D and DG variants are particularly well-suited for mobile connected devices with high throughput requirements such as mobile computing, in-car telematics, PDAs, e-readers, tablet PCs, and consumer electronics in general.
“With the NTT DOCOMO IOT passed, we officially enter the Japanese M2M market where we are also establishing a regional office,” said Dominikus Hierl, chief marketing officer at Telit Wireless Solutions. “Having the HE910 series certified is an important step to enter the Japanese market. On top Japan has a large automotive market for M2M. Both Tier-one suppliers and OEMs in this segment represent solid demand for our products particularly given our standing with respect to PPAP, extended temperature/vibration ratings and corporate TS16949 automotive certification. ”
The xE910 form factor family protects investments by offering complete compatibility among companion products from 2G-GPRS all the way to 4G-LTE and every technology in between. For more information about the HE910 series of modules and other Telit products, visit www.telit.com.
