Tell us about the venue and reason of the selection for organising this event?
Hyderabad has emerged as global aerospace industry hub in recent years. From manufacturing cabins of the US president’s helicopters to fuselages of the world’s most advanced combat helicopter – all are happening in Hyderabad. With a strong presence of defence and research laboratories, public sector undertakings, it’s IT strength, premier academic institutions, infrastructure and several small and medium enterprises, the city offers the right eco-system for the sector.
IESA is organising this event every year, what is the motto and how IESA recognises this opportunity?
Deftronics is a great opportunity for manufacturers and businesses to understand what’s in store in this sector. The main motto of IESA is to connect the various stakeholders and update the industry about the opportunities in the sector. Deftronics will provide a great platform for the industry leaders, government and other stakeholders to come together to discuss and debate on the various topics on opportunities, challenges and solutions for the Indian A&D industry and take the industry forward to the next level.
How is A&D industry emerging in India? What are the key opportunities for manufacturing players?
The opportunity for electronics in India stems across both stand-alone systems as well as at a subsystem level for other systems. The total market opportunity for A&D electronics for India ranges from US$ 70-72 Billion in next 10-12 years. Of this almost US$ 53-54 Billion emanates from electronics spend as part of platforms (that is, at Tier 1 and Tier 2 levels). Another US$ 17-18 Billion of demand emanates from projects which are traditionally called system-of-system projects like Indian Army’s Project TCS, BMS etc.
Other than exhibition, what are the other activities that will happen during DEFTRONICS show?
IESA will hold conferences with over 35 key global speakers presenting their thoughts on the industry. IESA will also honour individuals and organisations that helped the industry to grow and will provide a great networking opportunity.
