Recent publications of Dr. Simon Park (senior lecturer in molecular biology at the university of Surray) on his blog “Exploring The Invisible” make clear how many germs there are on your phone. It is said that an average phone contains 18 times more bacteria than a public toilet.
many germs there are on your phoneCombining that with an article in which Mr. Ahonen (considered by Forbes magazine to be the most influential voice on mobile technology) claims we are touching our phone every six minutes and about a 150 times a day.

We ask you to realize how many times a day you wash your hands? And how often do you clean your phone?

This is where the latest Kickstarter campaign founds it inspiration. A campaign is launched to development an antimicrobial iPhone 6 protector that contains a technology copied from nature to make it antimicrobial. It is a biocompatible and eco-friendly, non-leaching technology derived from nature, that is not using silver, biocides or any other harmful substances to give it antimicrobial properties. The technology is developed by a startup that was identified by the European Commission as being one of the top 3 tech startups in Europe. This company, Parx Plastics, holds the patents to this disruptive technology and is developing applications with several Fortune 500 companies for food packaging, implants, medical devices and more.

“It is great to be at the table with these large organizations.” says Parx CEO Michaël van der Jagt, “but all these companies have one thing in common: their processes are pretty slow.” “And we are eager to get our technology out in the market, in the hands of the customers.” Parx Plastics is not intending to be a developer of mobile phone accessories, they choose the Kickstarter platform to introduce the technology to a wider audience and offer a useful item with it: the Dr.Parx antimicrobial iPhone 6 protector. A minimalistic protector for the iPhone 6 made from Tritan material from Eastman Chemical, equipped with the technology from Parx Plastics that offers 99% less bacteria than normal.
